[Canada] Postdoctoral Fellow in Microfluidic Devices, Universify of Ottawa

University of Ottawa has a two-year Postdoctoral Fellow position supported by a NSERC Strategic Grant. Successful candidate will work closely with national laboratories at the National Research Council of Canada and Canadian Food Inspection Agency to develop a novel microfluidic-based flow cytometer (microcytometer) for rapid detection and identification of bacterial foodborne pathogens. Responsibilities of this position include the design & simulation, fabrication & characterization of the microfluidic chips; designing & implementing fluidic controlling system of the microcytometer, and developing methodologies to validation the microcytometer.

A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • An earned Ph.D. or other equivalent degree in Engineering Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • Solid background and hands-on experience in microfluidic devices and their applications in biologically relevant systems
  • An excellent team player with excellent communication skills.
