The fellowship is available within the CARBO-North project, funded by EU (http://www.carbonorth.net/ ) which aims at quantifying the carbon budget in Northern Russia across temporal and spatial scales using flux measurements, carbon stock inventories, ecological understanding and modelling approaches. The participants are 17 European and Russian Universities and Institutes. The PhD follow will participate in measuring CO2 and CH4 exchange at a tundra site in the northern part of European Russia.
The three year PhD program includes a stay at the University of Stockholm and supervision will be provided at both universities. The successful candidate will be enrolled at the COGCI PhD-school at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen.
The successful candidate is expected to have a strong interest in the topics of climate change, carbon cycling, permafrost and tree line dynamics and climate feedback in the Arctic region.
Applicants should hold a Masters degree in geography, biology, geophysics or a related field.
Applicants must submit a description of interests, CV, documentation for a Master degree, references, list of publications and a project proposal (max. 3 pages).
