Postdoctoral Reseach Fellowship - Array Chemistry [UK]

As part of the recent EPSRC/GlaxoSmithKline-sponsored initiative in Array Chemistry, this position is available under the supervision of Dr Steve Marsden and Professor Adam Nelson.

A postdoctoral research fellowship is available to develop novel synthetic methodologies appropriate for array synthesis and to use these methodologies in array synthesis of drug-like molecules.

The research effort will be based in alternating years at Leeds and at GlaxoSmithKline's Stevenage research centre. A commitment to complete periods of work at both sites will be highly important. You will have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry and will have a strong interest in synthetic organic chemistry and the mechanisation/automation of synthesis and purification. You will also have good IT skills in order to handle large amounts of data.

This post is available from 01 April 2007, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a period of up to 4 years (dependent on starting salary).

The research fellowship will be on a University contract with a salary on the University Grade 6 (£20,842 - £25,633p.a) or Grade 7 (£26,402 - £28,010 p.a) depending upon experience.
Fellows will also be paid a salary enhancement whilst working at GlaxoSmithKline.
